Looking back on what the year has meant to the
Food Bank and those we serve, we are proud of our continued efforts to meet
the demand of providing nutritious food and grocery product to thousands of
families in the tri-state.
Our Accomplishments are a result of community
support, caring volunteers, and a dedicated staff.
 |
Food Distribution: Distributed over 4 Million Pounds of food to help feed needy
people in the tri-state through our network of nearly 200 member agencies.
More than 50,000 families each month are provided with food assistance. |
 |
Web Site: Launched our Web
Site. This will
improve communications with agencies, donors, and volunteers. To gain
more food donations from the national food industry, it is important to keep
up with today's technology. |
 |
Client Self-Sufficiency: Assist member agencies in
promoting client self-sufficiency programs and community-building programs by
providing tools and information to agencies to pass along to their clients. |
 |
Agency Relations: Enhanced the quality of support to
agencies through our monitoring process. This helped increase the level
and consistency of agency performance toward meeting the objective of ending
hunger. |
 |
Financial Strength and Stability: Although the year
was a challenge financially, we maintained a fantastic efficiency level.
Ninety-six percent of our functional expense went directly into the feeding
program with only four percent to management and fundraising. |
 |
Back Pack-Food for
Kids Program: Our Back Pack-Food for Kids Program begin April
2005. |
 |
Hunger Study: Participated in a nation-wide hunger study to identify unmet needs
in our local area and
provide valuable information to guide us in our future goals and solutions to
alleviate hunger. |
