Job Description

 

Job Title:          Product Receipting and Data Entry

Classification:   Part- time - Non exempt

Department:      Administration

Reports To:       Administrative Assistant   

 

SUMMARY:

 

Data entry of product received, receipting product donors, and preparing monthly and quarterly poundage reports.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Product Receipting

  • Enter all product (donated and purchased) received into database on a daily basis.
  • Send donor receipt for food and GIK donations.
  • Provide copies of receipts to bookkeeper as required.
  • Follow up on donations received from food drives to assure timely receipting and/or thank you.
  • Complete Monthly Poundage Report.
  • Complete and submit Quarterly Poundage Report for Feeding America.
  • Keep accurate files of receipts
  • Maintains files on organization’s policies and procedures along with signed acknowledgments.
  • General Filing.
  • Work on special projects when needed.

 

Inventory Control

  • Assist Administrative Assistant with monthly inventory reconciliation

 

Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience

  • Educational requirements may vary but will require either a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to work well with the public and possess good customer services skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently under minimal supervision. 
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Office specifically Word, Excel, Outlook,  and on-line reporting.
  • Ability and propensity to work as a team.

 

Physical Demands

  • Reliable transportation.
  • Participate in community events (indoors and outdoors).

Saturday, May 12 is the Letter Carriers Food Drive.  Please put non-perishable donations in a bag by your mailbox and your letter carrier will pick up for the Tri-State Food Bank to help "Stamp Out Hunger" in our community.  Our goal is 150.000 pounds of food.

Feinstein Challenge

March and April – Annual $1 Million Giveaway to Fight Hunger. 

In its fifteen year, the Feinstein Foundation offers a great opportunity to stretch donations.  One million dollars will be divided proportionately among hunger fighting agencies nationwide participating in the challenge.  Each agency will get a share of the $1million, equal, to the percentage of the total amount raised by all participants.  Donated items include cash, checks, and food items (valued at $1.00 per pound) if they are received in March and April in response to the Feinstein challenge.

postheadericon March Against Hunger

4th Annual March Against Hunger Challenge.  Joined by the Indiana State Bar Association and Feeding Indiana's Hungry, Attorney General, Greg Zoeller is calling upon local law firms to compete in the state of Indiana to raise the most funds and food for their local food bank.  Attorney General Zoeller will be at TSFB on February 20 at 2:30 pm to kick off the event locally.
